COVID-19 Information for Parents

This section is aimed at providing our school community with relevant information about the COVID 19 infection and the reopening of our school.

The school has a responsibility to make an effort to ensure the safety, health and well-being of all members of our school community – children, parents and staff. The following plan has been formulated to better ensure that the school can exercise that duty of care: Updated Covid Response Plan August 2021

The main aims of our plan to reopen our school will be:

  • Preventing the possible spread of Covid 19
  • Ensuring children can return to learning in a safe environment
  • Ensuring staff, parents and children are supported as they return to school life
Our approaches to reopening our school are in line with the Department of Education Guidelines.

We want to get back to what we do best here in Scoil Chlíodhna CNS. We appreciate it will be difficult but a community effort is what we need! The document below is for the reference of the school community:

COVID-19-Policy-Statement

Building on the return to school in recent weeks of children in special schools and in special classes at primary and post-primary level, the government has decided on a phased return of students to in-school education.

On Monday 1 March the first four class groups at primary level – junior and senior infants, first and second class will return to school.

Monday 15 March is the target date for the return to in-school provision of the rest of primary school children – third to sixth class. This date will be reviewed during the period following 1 March.

Here are some reminders for you before we welcome our Junior Infants – 2nd class children back on Monday 1st March. We are so excited to see you all  😊

The Department of Education has released some back to school advice for parents during COVID-19. You can find more information here.

On Tuesday 20th October, we received a visit from a member of the inspectorate team at the Department of Education. The purpose of this visit was to observe the practices we have put in place as part of our COVID-19 Response Plan which support the safe provision of schooling through the COVID pandemic.

Our visitor said it was lovely to have the opportunity to experience, at first hand, the excellent commitment from the school community to maintain our school open during these challenging times.
