Monday

What a fantastic start to our Active Week! Thanks to Finny O’Regan from Munster Rugby for showing us some new rugby skills, the children loved it! We practiced different drills and learned about some of the rules involved when playing rugby!

 

Tuesday

Today we were very lucky to have Craig Harrington – the Cork Athletics Development Officer come to our school and play some athletics related games with us focusing on coordination, jumping, jogging, sprinting and throwing. We had so much learning new skills and some games we can play in P.E

 

Wednesday

Today was our Jersey Day and we also had G.A.A with Múinteoir Séan. Séan is a Games Development Administrators for the East Cork Area and works with different Primary and Post Primary Schools.
In a random act of kindness today, Múinteoir Sean presented Múinteoir Joanne with her very own Cork jersey when he saw she had to ‘resort’ to a Kerry jersey on our special Jersey Day! Go raibh míle maith agat Múinteoir Seán!

Thursday

Today Tania O’Flynn from Badminton Ireland came to visit the Senior Infants and First Class. She introduced us to some badminton skills – we learned all about the shuttlecock and how to hold the badminton racket correctly. We also had a chance to play a game of badminton with our friends! We had so much fun! Afterwards we joined up with the Junior Infants for our ‘Walk a mile with a smile’. What a great day!
