Engineers Week 2021 took place from Saturday, 27th February – Friday, 5th March 2021.

Engineers Week is an opportunity to demonstrate the importance of engineering in our lives.

The aims of the week include:
  1. Encouraging young people, their teachers and parents to explore the fun world of Engineering.
  2. Generating interest and enthusiasm for Engineering in their everyday lives.
  3. Inspiring young people to explore Engineering career paths.
  4. Highlighting the diverse opportunities Engineering offers.

We had an Engineer’s Challenge competition – the children worked hard at home to create marble runs and parachutes. Here are some our winners from Junior & Senior Infants as well as First & Second class.

Stay tuned next week for our 3rd & 4th Class winners!

Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day

Last week, 4 girls from Múinteoir Ian’s class took part in Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day.
‘Girl Day’ helps focus a growing movement to inspire girls’ futures so they learn they have a place in engineering a better world.
A big thank you to Hajer, one of our parents, who works with Raytheon Technologies who hosted the event, and to Múinteoir Eoin, who co-ordinated our attendees and who also attended the virtual event!
