Partnerships within and outside the school are an important aspect of the Active School Flag. When a school participates in the Active School Flag Programme it is vital to interact and engage with other organisations and clubs.

Active School Committee

In Scoil Chlíodhna CNS we established our own Active School Committee at the outset of the process.

The Active School Committee have very important jobs:
They motivate us to get active.
They organise P.E and playground equipment.
They keep the P.E storeroom tidy.
They lead playground activities on the yard.
They helped in the selection process of our ASF slogan.
They have committee meetings to plan and organise ASF events.
They keep all classes up to date on ASF news and events.
They keep the ASF noticeboard up to date.

twitter  We use Facebook and Twitter throughout the year to keep all our followers up to date on Active School Activities. These are also used to inform pupils and parents/guardians about physical activities that are available in Carrigtwohill and surrounding communities such as G.A.A training times. Our school also acknowledges physical activity and sporting success achieved during and outside of school hours through the use of Facebook/ Twitter and monthly newsletters. During Active School Week a daily Facebook post or tweet was sent out to update our followers on all of the activities.
Our school invited different sports clubs/physical activity providers from the local community to visit our school for Active School Week in June to give taster sessions of their activity. New activities that we tried out were athletics, rugby, zumba and badminton.  Take a look at our Active Schools Week post to see all of our fun activities! Not only did we have different sports clubs visit our school but many of our amazing parents came in to help on Sports Day and we really appreciated their help! Check out our Sports Day post to see all the fun!
This year was also our first time to enter the Cork City Sports and also the East Cork Cross Country Running.

G.A.A with Múinteoir Séan

Múinteoir Séan from Cork G.A.A comes to our school every Monday to teach us some hurling and football skills. The children love developing their ball skills and playing games. See below for some pictures of us enjoying G.A.A!
